Participation in this puzzle contest by Channing Jones Games, hereinafter referred to as operator or organizer, is free of charge and is based exclusively on these conditions of participation.
Procedure of the Puzzle Contest
The duration of the puzzle contest extends until the end of a month (exact time and date as published) when the puzzle has been solved. Within this period, users are given the opportunity to take part in the puzzle contest online.
Participation
In order to participate in the puzzle contest, it is necessary to write and send an email as described on the web page of the puzzle. Participation is only possible within the participation period. Submissions received after the closing date will not be considered.
Only one submitted registration per participant takes part in the puzzle contest. It is strictly forbidden to use multiple email addresses to increase the odds of winning.
Participation in the puzzle contest is free.
Eligible Participants
Natural persons who have reached the age of 14 are entitled to participate. Participation is not limited to customers of the organizer and is not dependent on the purchase of any goods or services.
If a participant is limited in his legal capacity, the consent of his legal representative is required.
All persons and employees of the operator involved in the conception and implementation of the puzzle contest as well as their family members are not entitled to participate in the puzzle contest. In addition, the operator reserves the right, at its own discretion, to exclude people from participation if there are legitimate reasons, for example
(a) manipulation in connection with access to or implementation of the puzzle contest, (b) violation of these conditions of participation, (c) unfair dealing or (d) false or misleading information in connection with participation in the puzzle contest.
Prize, Notification and Delivery of Prize
The following prizes will be awarded:
- 1 copy of the board game “Galactic Era“
- cash prize as described on the web page for the puzzle
The winners will be determined after the closing date for entries and, if necessary, in a random draw among the entries that have solved the puzzle, as described on the web page for the puzzle.
The winners of the puzzle contests will be informed promptly via a separate email about the prize.
The prize will be handed over exclusively to the winner or to the legal representative of the minor winner. An exchange, a pickup or a cash payment of the prizes are not possible.
Additional costs associated with claiming the prize (e.g. customs duties) shall be borne by the winner. The winner is responsible for any taxation of the prize.
If a winner does not respond within a period of 3 weeks after being asked twice, the prize can be transferred to another participant.
Completion of the Puzzle Contest
The organizer expressly reserves the right to end the puzzle contest without prior notice and without giving reasons. This applies in particular to any reasons that would disrupt or prevent the puzzle contest from running as planned.
Privacy
In order to participate in the puzzle contest, it is necessary to provide personal data. The participant assures that the personal information provided by him, in particular his first name, surname and email address, is true and correct.
The organizer points out that all personal data of the participant will not be passed on to third parties without their consent, nor will they be allowed to use them.
In the event of a win, the winner agrees to the publication of his full name and country of residence in the advertising media used by the organizer. This includes the announcement of the winner on the operator’s website and its social media platforms.
The participant can revoke his/her declared consent at any time. The revocation must be sent in writing to the contact details of the organizer given in the imprint area of the puzzle contest app. After revocation of the consent, the collected and stored personal data of the participant will be deleted immediately.

Applicable Law

The operator’s competition is exclusively subject to the law of the Federal Republic of Germany. The legal process is excluded.
Severability Clause
Should a provision of these Conditions of Participation be or become invalid in whole or in part, this shall not affect the validity of the rest of these Conditions of Participation. Instead of the invalid provision, the legally permissible provision that comes closest to the economic sense and purpose expressed in the invalid provision shall apply. The same applies in the event of a loophole in these Conditions of Participation.
